Autonomic Controls Announces Touch Panel Software For Home Theater and Whole-House Audio
White Plains, NY (PRWEB) July 11, 2007 -- Autonomic Controls has announced the Beta Release of Mirage, which allows remote management and playback of digital media stored on a PC or network. It can run on UMPCs, Web-Tablets, Windows CE and other devices.
Mirage is a leading example of a new wave of software that leverages touch based computing. It allows users to browse and playback media stored anywhere on their network using an interface similar to an ATM machine, without having to operate a computer.
Listeners can browse their digital music CD covers while outside on the Patio, for example, and playback their selections on the whole house audio system.
Used in a home theater, customers can browse their entire movie collection on a touch panel, flipping though digital DVD covers and then send it to the big screen for viewing.
Mirage also provides a way to browse digital photographs, videos, and recorded TV without being tied to a computer.
Autonomic Controls' also produces media control modules for AMX, Crestron and HAI control systems. Consumers and custom electronics installers have been asking for a way to control of media from widely accessible web tablets, Windows CE touch panels, and PDAs.
Mirage was designed to answer that demand. It has wide applicability for use in residential settings, bars / restaurants, government and educational facilities.
For software developers and hardware manufacturers, the Mirage API enables programmers to build custom solutions that browse, playback, and control digital media on an IP network.
Autonomic Controls is currently inviting companies to discuss packaging Mirage technology with touch panels and Media Center Computers in order to provide a turn-key solution to consumers and custom integrators.
